Getting the new pc set up. What's the best bit torrent software to use? I figure this is the time to get a new one since I am starting with a clean slate.

BTW, thanks Staggerleib. I got the wireless adaptor installed and working just fine.

wineland ... i use utorrent, and find it quite useful for my purposes, plus i enjoy the fact that it is not a memory hog and uses few system resources; it also lets me set upload/download speeds for each separate torrent, however, i suspect that might be the norm for most bittorrent software programs

i use a Windows platform, but i have heard that Mac users prefer Azureus; i have used Azureus a few times in the past, and it has a wealth of interesting features, however, i am by no means completely familiar with the software, perhaps someone who is can chime in

I've used utorrent, azureus, and bitcomet (WinXP) and it's definitely utorrent for the win. Simple, clean, and unobtrusive.

I use BitComet on windows just`cause I always have,
http://www.bitcomet.com/
I use transmission on linux http://www.transmissionbt.com/index.php `cause I`m "reliably" informed it`s the best.
If you`re only interested in The Dead though get a squeeze box http://www.slimdevices.com/pi_overview.html?
I have one in the kitchen, lounge and bedroom.
It streams the archive to your music system, Any Dead show mentioned here can be played on whatever fancy stereo you`ve got without having to sit at your computer.
If you sync them all, the music is where ever you go in the house.
I don`t download and burn anymore.

I too like the clean, simple utorrent interface. I tried Azureus briefly a couple of years ago and it worked fine but used more memory than I wanted, and at the time my computer was short on memory. I've never had the least complaint with utorrent. I'm on a PC.
